Waiting Room in Oncology Center
Trashy magazines, free coffee, non-dairy creamer and bowls of candy.

All day er'y day.
Last night I fell asleep to the cats hissing, chasing and pawing each other.
Today I woke up to this.
I blame their poor memory and inferior animal brains.

Spring Break 09!
Day 4. 8:21am
Wonderful so far. I forget how mild the weather is in the Northwest. Every day has been a cool, comfortable temperature of 50-60 degrees, with splotchy sun and green green green plants and trees. We are lucky to be in town the few days that cherry, apple, dogwood and magnolia trees are all blossoming.
Joe forgot to bring a card reader so there will be lots of pictures to throw up once we get home. I am constantly surprised by the friendliness of people in this town.
I'm not gonna lie, I miss the cats.
Love,
-d
Day 1. 8:04am
Today we awoke in a cold, dark dungeon, also known as Molly's roommates room! She kicked us out because she had to get ready for work, but boy were we excited to start the vacation off right.
So far there's been lots of youtube videos and watching Molly get ready for work. More updates later, possibly in Salt Lake City on our layover after a nice Chicago morning. I'm comin' to get ya Stumptown!

I blue it!
A few things.
1. Ridiculousy great peanut butter cookie recipe:
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
Bake at 350 for 11-15 minutes.
They aren't the dried out, criss cross peanut butter cookies of my childhood. And they look really great in our Christmas tin which portrays a real live deer being attracted to a fake christmas light decoration deer.

2. I fixed the Christmas cactus so it isn't drying up anymore. And when I say fixed I mean.. watered. Technically called a "Zygo cactus," this prickly pal gets its nickname from the hot pink blooms it shoots out in the winter. God bless the simplicity of plant etymology.

3. Upside-down buddies!

That's all for now.

Bonjour snow bank.
Talk about a nice Sunday drive!

I'm not sure how we made it home from Chicago, but I can tell you how we didn't.. highways.
94 = closed
196 = most of it closed, all of it should have been.
Chicago Dr. East = hilarious/sad watching people drive right into snow banks. And when I say people, I mean dodge neons.
Joe, unsure if we are in a field or on a road. But of course still smiling.

I got home and couldn't look out half of our windows because snow piles over them and seeps into the apartment. Our heat is blaring. You know who doesn't notice? Domesticated animals.
Jack will only drink warm water from a running faucet... the hardships of a house cat.
Love,
d
